I chose Nick Allan as my editor. He has done copy editing and I have wandering fingers, meaning I have so many spelling errors! Here is what Nick had to say about the book…

As the editor of So What?, I had the unique privilege of walking alongside Jenn Hayward through every page of this book. What struck me most was not just the stories themselves, but the way Jenn approaches life. She has an uncanny ability to take moments that would leave many people bitter, defeated, or stuck, and instead ask a simple but profound question: “So what now?”

I’ve had my own share of twists, challenges, victories, and mistakes. Like most people, there are chapters I’d gladly relive and others I’d rather forget. Reading and editing this book reminded me that our experiences are not simply things that happen to us. They become lessons, perspectives, and opportunities to help others if we are willing to learn from them.

Jenn’s stories are personal, funny, heartbreaking, and often surprising, but what makes this book special is that it invites readers to reflect on their own lives. It challenges us to stop asking why something happened and start asking what we can do with what we’ve learned. The result is a book that feels less like a memoir and more like a conversation with a trusted friend who isn’t afraid to laugh at herself while tackling life’s biggest questions.

Whether you’ve faced loss, success, disappointment, change, or simply the everyday chaos of being human, So What? offers a perspective that is both practical and hopeful. It reminds us that our hardest moments do not have to define us, but they can teach us. More importantly, they can become the very things that allow us to better understand and help the people around us.

I believe readers will find pieces of themselves in these pages. I certainly did.
